April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. The agency will be gearing up for a month long campaign to educate the public and celebrate our community’s most precious gift – our children!

The "Wild About Kids" African safari theme orchestrated by gala chair Carrie Williams, proved to be an adventuresome display of the community's unwavering support for victims of physical and sexual child abuse and neglect.
The Naples Grande Resort & Golf Club's Vista Ballroom was filled with renowned wildlife and transformed into a Private Game Reserve. Over 100 supporters enjoyed a delicious feast, tribal dancers and the “Call of the Wild” game hunt. As some bidders scoped their sights on the silent auction tables, other explorers tried their chance to win a 14k white and yellow gold diamond necklace, courtesy of Provident Jewelers.
Executive Director, Jackie Stephens presented the Volunteer of the Year of Award to Carolyn Canning. Carolyn was the creative force behind the amazing ballroom transformation and contributed tons of energy, time and several auction items to help make the event a success. The Wallace Benevolent Award for 2008 was presented to Liesa & Russell Priddy for their long term commitment to the agency and their establishment of the Endowment fund.
The "Wild About Kids" gala sponsors included Collier Enterprises, Daphne & David Pfaff, Brooks Insurance Services/Allstate, Nancy & Doug Campbell, Fifth Third Bank, Florida Community Bank, Georgia Pacific Packaging, International Paper, Shari & Daniel Summers, Six L's Packing Company, Surety Construction, Williams Farms of Immokalee, along with several other individual supporters.
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Collier County is now officially listed as a Child Restraint Inspection and Fitting Station. The Safety Car Seat Program provides car seat consultation and installation instructions. Call the CAC to schedule an appointment for a car seat check. Be prepared to describe the car you most often drive and the car seats you currently use. The technician will use this in order to have the most up to date information available to ensure you are using the best methods for transporting your children. Contact Tina Streeter ext. 32 if you have any questions. Make an appointment today!
Purchase your Stop Abuse License Plate from your local tax collector and join the CAC in the fight against physical and sexual child abuse! All proceeds of your donation go to benefit Florida CAC’s.
