Olivia’s Closet
Named after an eight year old little girl who used her birthday money to purchase brand new clothes for children of abuse, Olivia’s Closet is in need of constant replenishment. The children who are brought into our care often find themselves in difficult situations in which it may not be safe for them to retrieve their clothing at home or, their clothing must be removed and taken into forensic evidence. It is essential that our agency be able to provide these victims of physical and sexual abuse with brand new, clean clothing in order to create as “normal” and “safe” environment as possible.
Guidelines
Due to the nature of abuse that most of our client’s experience, the CAC of Collier County strives to reduce that trauma that the children/families experience once they arrive at our agency. For these reasons, we ask that all clothing donated follow the criteria listed below:
* All clothing must be new with tags still attached
* Clothing should be appropriate to wear to school or church
* Please, no suggestive clothing with inappropriate language or symbols
Children’s Treasure Chest
There are so many children who look into our toy box to find a new “friend” to hold and hug. Your donation of a new stuffed animal will bring big smiles to the children’s faces and a sense of comfort. Your thoughtfulness can make a difference.
